We had a solid Week 2 on the betting slate for college football. Along with last night’s win fading the UCLA Bruins, we teetered into positive territory (see Bet Tracker below). Today brings another chance for us to build our bankroll while watching some great football. We have three games on the slate featuring top-25 matchups, starting with a tilt between Georgia and Tennessee at 330pm today. So sit back, enjoy the beautiful fall weather, and win some money with the Bell Ringer sports crew today.
CLEMSON TIGERS -2.5 at GEORGIA TECH YELLOW JACKETS
We start with a huge game in the ACC today as Clemson travels to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech. The Tigers have been underwhelming to start the 2025 campaign. They blew a halftime lead against LSU, by getting shutout in the 2nd half. Clemson followed that up by scoring just 3 points in the first half against Troy last week. Ultimately, the Tigers rallied for a 27-16 win but they managed just 316 total yards of offense versus a Troy team that has the 89th ranked defense per SP+.
As for Georgia Tech, they are 2-0 which includes a road win at Colorado to start the season. The Yellow Jackets were a sneaky pick in the ACC this season as Brett Keys squad returned star players at skill positions including QB Haynes King.
But I’m going with the Tigers today to rise up to this challenge and pull of a late victory. Clemson’s run defense has improved greatly and should be able to slow down the Yellow Jackets formidable rushing offense. On the other side, Georgia Tech struggles against the pass and I see this as the biggest difference today. Even without WR Antonio Williams, Clemson has enough firepower in the passing game to put up yards and numbers. Plus this is the perfect “disrespect” spot for HC Dabo Sweeney and he will be able to use that and motivate his team to act like they are dogs but come away as the victor.
ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE -20.5 vs WISCONSIN BADGERS
The Tide have been ridiculed and ripped following their opening season loss to Florida State. They used that fuel to dismantle ULM last week by the tune of 73-0. Their defense was particularly impressive, holding the Warhawks to 148 total yards of offense. This is a hungry ‘Bama team and one I’m willing to back for the next few weeks while they take their pain out on opponents. Which today will be Wisconsin, who comes in to Tuscaloosa with potentially a backup QB in Danny O’Neil (starter Billy Edwards is questionable). Even if Edwards plays, he’s likely not 100% which is not a good alignment when facing the Tide. Give me ‘Bama in a blowout today on the heels of a huge matchup in two weeks with Georgia.
TEMPLE OWLS +24.5 vs OKLAHOMA SOONER
This one is simple, trap game. Oklahoma had their biggest win in HC Brent Venables coaching career last week against Michigan. And they have a huge game next week against SEC powerhouse Auburn. Temple plays at the Eagles home stadium, Lincoln Financial field. It will feel like a void of cheers with a stadium less than half full. Which means it’ll be even harder for the Sooners to feed off any energy in the crowd. So I’ll take the fighting Owls from North Philly to hang around and cover this big number.
GEORGIA BULLDOGS -3.5 at TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS
Georgia’s offense hasn’t been stellar to start the season, but their top-5 defense remains dominant and travels better than a struggling offense. Tennessee’s main worry this year was quarterback, but transfer Joey Aguilar has shown promise in their first two games. The issue is, he’s never faced anything like Georgia’s defense. The closest comparison was Clemson last year, where he went 18 for 41 and rushed for -3 yards. Today, the Volunteers are likely to face QB struggles, while Georgia’s offense does just enough to secure an important early-season win.
