The Sweet Spot: MLB DFS and BETS – FRIDAY April 4, 2025

The second weekend of the MLB season is upon us. And we have some absolute bangers as far as matchups go. The biggest one is less than a mile from where I write this article, as the undefeated Dodgers travel to Citizens Bank Park to take on the Phillies. We also get a rematch from…

2025 MLB Win Totals – Ring the Bell

Welcome to my first edition of Ring The Bell for 2025. As most of you may know, the bell is symbolic in the city of Philadelphia. From the Liberty Bell, to the bell ringing ceremony before 76ers games, to the large LED bell that lights up for homeruns at Citizens Bank Park, the bell means…

    Philadelphia Phillies 2025 Season Preview

The Phillies enter the 2025 season with little decisions to make roster wise. But that will change after this season as they have expiring contracts of key players (i.e. JT Realmuto, Kyle Schwarber, etc) and the ascension of young stars (i.e. Aiden Miller, Justin Crawford, Andrew Painter, Rafael Marchan) that need playing time. Meaning this…

2024 College Football Season Preview – Playoff Predictions

The wait is over, and the College Football Season is back. We already saw a major upset in Week 0 as Georgia Tech stunned #10 Florida State with a game winning FG. Biography

As a kid I loved watching the local sports teams. I can remember the first Phillies Game I watched in person was when Mike Schmidt ran out to play 3rd base with a wig on. I didn’t get it at the time, all I knew is that I was watching a legend, in a not-so legendary stadium. Then the first Eagles Game I went to in person was against the Washington Redskins. The Eagles WR Calvin Williams caught a game-winning TD pass from QB Randall Cunningham. I never heard a place so loud. My first Sixers game, well that’s when the Chuck Wagon used to roam the Spectrum floor boards. And the Flyers, I remember going early to watch pregame warmups and Washington Capitals defenseman Al Iafrate slapped a shot into the stands the nailed a spectator and bloodied their lip! That was well before nets were installed behind the goals. Those were the legendary days of Rick Tocchet and Tim Kerr.

Since then, I turned this love of sports into a hobby. I was first on the air as a teenager and into my young 20’s on a local NJ radio station. Then I turned that into website development, writing, and eventually into podcasting where I started 4th & Go, a Philly “4 for 4” Plus More show.

Today, I contribute regularly for Win Daily Sports at www.windailysports.com. I also provide content for Heat Ratio Sports at their YouTube Channel. You can also hear me on Sirius Radio every Sunday night from 7 to 9 pm (Channel 87).

Finally, you may ask why Bell Ringer Sports? It’s so ironic that I, Dave Gloeckner, fell in love with the city that has the most famous bell as a monument. My heritage is from Germany and in that country a Gloeckner (Glöckner) is a well-known figure in their church. In fact, it is the little boy/girl that runs up the tower to ring the bell. Can’t make this stuff up. Glöckner – Wikipedia
