2025 College Football Bets – Sunday August 31st

Week 1 of the College Football season rolls into Sunday, with two games meant for being on the center stage. In the early game, we have HC Shane Beamer taking on his dad’s old team in Virginia Tech. In the second game, we have a battle that was prevelant in the 1980’s, Notre Dame and Miami.

We were down a unit yesterday so looking to get back in the green today.

My yearly tracker is available at this link and will be updated daily whenever a bet is placed:

Virginia Tech Hokies +6.5 at South Carolina Gamecocks

It’s the Beamer Bowl as South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer faces off against the program his father put on the map, Virginia Tech. The Gamecocks are riding a wave of hype after finishing last season strong, and for good reason—star quarterback LaNorris Sellers is back in Columbia, SC, ready to prove last year was no fluke. Meanwhile, Virginia Tech boasts its own dual-threat QB with Kyron Drones returning to lead the Hokies in Blacksburg, VA.

This game just looks too easy when you see SC favored by less than a touchdown. This one opened around 8 points and has been driven down. Yet, most of the bets and money is coming in on South Carolina (according to www.sportsbettingdime.com we see 73% of bets and 71% of money on SC).

So I’m going to zag here and fade the public. Va Tech is a strong running team and can keep the ball out of Sellers hands by dominating the clock. The hype is real around South Carolina but that also brings pressure. Just ask Alabama.
